Often firms struggle to understand, plan and implement good and sustainable business management that will satisfy the regulatory needs of a PSU visit.

The Standard will help firms to be prepared for a visit or spot check - which are becoming more prevalent.  If a firm through Lexcel accreditation can prove that they have good practice systems in place, and if these are operating well and the process of continual review works, a notice of a PSU visit shouldn’t faze those firms. 

Because Lexcel demands compliance with good practice management and good procedures and systems; a firm that is working with Lexcel should be in a position where they will also demonstrate that they also;

-          comply with relevant Solicitors Code of Conduct rules

-          demonstrate maintenance of good records and systems
